In this extraordinary project, three internationally renowned creative studios (Víctor Legorreta / Mauricio Rocha / Mario Schjetnan) come together, interacting interchangeably in an integration of contemporary architecture, site nature, and landscape architecture.

Located in a private natural reserve of ¿ hectares on the south coast of Jalisco, the Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo is a luxury hotel (156 suites) immersed in the nature of the low deciduous jungle and beach of approximately ¿ hectares. The landscape intervention creates a natural image where the jungle itself recovers, mimicking the architecture built on site, achieving total integration between architecture and nature.

The following points are taken into account to achieve natural, pleasant, and aesthetic recreational and leisure spaces for the enjoyment of users.

  1. Views – towards the sea and nature
  2. Privacy – between villas and amenities
  3. Management of ravines and hydrology
  4. Accessibility – from roads to villas and amenities
  5. Landscape – conservation of vegetation, monumental trees, and rocks
  6. Topography – minimal impact on cuts in infrastructure, roads, and architectural elements
  7. Ecological restitution – recovery of the original jungle after construction processes
An environment has been achieved where a strong and intimate relationship with the landscape and local nature is breathed.

Through a careful exercise of micro-location of the villas, main building, and amenities such as pools, spas, restaurants, and services, the Master Plan was enriched, preserving ravines, streams, dunes, and cliffs. Three environmental-landscape zones were defined: mountain villas, beach villas, and majahua villas.

The result of this collaboration work is a paradigmatic set of a unique hotel that has achieved an environment where a strong and intimate relationship with the landscape and local nature is breathed.
